Researchers have reported that people who more closely followed a Mediterranean-like diet had total brain volume that was 13.11 mL larger (P=0.007) than that of people who adhered less closely to he diet.
Eating more fish and less meat was associated with larger brain volumes.
The researchers estimated that the effect of adhering to a Mediterranean-like diet was similar to that of five years’ less ageing.
