Admiral Jonas Ingram (1887 to 1952)

Jonas Howard Ingram was an Admiral of the US Navy. He was award the Medal of Honour for his “distinguished conduct in battle” on 22 April 1914 during the intervention at Vera Cruz, Mexico. He served in World War I and II. In November 1944, he was promoted to Admiral and became Commander in Chief, US Atlantic Fleet, retiring in April 1947.

The destroyer USS Jonas Ingram (DD-938), 1957-1983, was named in honour of Admiral Jonas H. Ingram.
