Did you know that the proportion of major employers who say they have turned a candidate down due to a social media profile is on the rise:
- 2012: 34%
- 2013: 43%
- 2014: 51%
I am currently unaware of what role social media takes with regards to recruitment and selection in the outdoor fitness market. I hazard a guess at not much. I know the largest UK provider still relies on CVs with an informal interview to ‘vet’ candidates.
It may be time for outdoor fitness companies to start utilising Social Media in their recruitment and selection process, as this may highlight issues with a candidate that would not otherwise be flagged through traditional methods.
