Online Booking System for Military Training Areas

An online system has replaced paper forms for units wanting to book stints on UK training areas and ranges.

The Bidding and Allocation Management System (Bams), accessed on Modnet, enables personnel to browse training sites by location, type, available facilities and weapon platform, allowing them to discover places they may not have realised were there.

Bid details can be saved for repeat requests, and an availability calendar means users can see when a location is fully booked before wasting time applying for the same dates.

It is now a common approach to booking training, regardless of where personnel are located. Users can also copy bids – no more writing each individual bid from scratch! The new process should raise awareness of alternative facilities that can be booked.

Personnel with a Ministry of Defence email address can set up an account on the system, and other contacts can be assigned to bids in case of absence.
