Seneca the Younger, fully Lucius Annaeus Seneca and also known simply as Seneca, was a Roman Stoic philosopher, statesman, and dramatist.

He was born in Córdoba in Hispania, and raised in Rome, where he was trained in rhetoric and philosophy.
