Curtis E. LeMay (1906 to 1990)
Curtis Emerson LeMay was a General in the US Air Force whose expertise in strategic bombardment techniques was important during World War II and the Cold War.
As commander US air forces in Europe he directed the Berlin airlift in 1948. He became the Chief of Staff of the US Air Force in 1961 retiring in 1965.
