Elliot Marantette ‘Pete’ Estes was an American automotive engineer and executive; he is best known as the fifteenth president of General Motors, from 1974 to 1981.
He had previously been the Chief Engineer at Pontiac, President of Pontiac Division, and President of Chevrolet Division before becoming executive Vice President of General Motors in 1972.
