Driving Training & Test Perk for New British Army Personnel

New Regular Army recruits are in line to save hundreds of pounds after top brass confirmed they can now learn to drive on the Service.

All new joiners will be eligible for driving instruction – as well as having their test paid for – as part of trade training, once the scheme has been fully phased in.

Royal Logistic Corps personnel will also gain their truck (LGV2/1) driving qualification.

Senior officers say the initiative – part of a wider training review – will improve the Army’s offer.
