I don’t know when Mr. Jefferson had the time to walk to realize the power of this physical activity, but his quotation is bloody true. [Notice that I am not talking about developing big muscles or strength through walking, but about the energizing aspect of walking]

It’s true that exercise provides energy unless we go beyond the limits of our bodies. How does it happen? When we are sitting, for instance, there is little movement of blood compared to when we exercise, say, run because the veins get squeezed and the blood in them gets transported to all parts of the body; the heart beats faster and pumps more blood as well.
