There are a number of interesting TV documentaries being aired over the next week on UK TV regarding diets, health apps and exercise:
- Horizon – Monitor Me on BBC1 @ 9pm: Dr Kevin Fong explores the boom in apps and gadgets designed to help people monitor their health around the clock.
- Scotland the Fat on BBC1 @ 8pm: Scotland, where I live, is the second fattest country in the world, with only America having higher obesity levels.
- The Men Who Made Us Thin, Episode 2 of 4, on BBC2 @ 9pm: Jacques Peretti examines how nutritionist Jean Mayer helped convince people in the 1960s that exercise was an effective way to lose weight and meets the woman who laid the foundation for the boom in exercise videos.
- The Men Who Made Us Fat, 3 Episodes, available on BBC iPlayer:Â Around the world, obesity levels are rising. More people are now overweight than undernourished. Jacques Peretti traces those responsible for revolutionising our eating habits.
