News: First Women Attend US Marine Corps Infantry Course

The US Marine Corps has for the first time allowed women to attend their infantry officers course.

Two female marines joined 107 male comrades for the first time to take the Combat Endurance Test, the first step of the Infantry Officer Course at Marine Corps Base Quantico.

One of the two women that started the 13-week course did not make it past the first day, which tests combat endurance. Neither did 27 of the 107 men.
