How Many Land Rovers Does the MOD Have?

On 01 January 2018 the United Kingdom (UK) Ministry of Defence (MOD) had between 8,214 and 8,262 Land Rover (High Specific) vehicles in service.

On 31 December 2018, the MOD stated there were 8,214 in service, which consisted of:

  • Truck Utility Light;
  • Truck Utility Medium; and
  • Battlefield Ambulance variant.

The MOD further stated that between 01 January 2018 and 31 December 2018:

  • 44 were marked as ‘awaiting disposal’; and
  • 4 were marked as ‘disposed’.

Although the MOD would state the total number of Land Rover vehicles in the fleet, it would not state, for security reasons, how many were operational.
