What is the Purpose of Project Firefly?
Project Firefly offers service leavers an opportunity to seamlessly transfer from Regular Service directly into the Maritime Reserve (Royal Naval or Royal Marine Reserve).
How Long Has It Been Going?
Project Firefly started in April 2013.
Extension of Project Firefly
In Autumn 2018, it is planned for Project Firefly to extend into the Ex-Regular community; having been granted approval to process those who left Naval Service up to 24 months post transfer date.
What are the Eligibility Criteria?
The maximum joining age is:
- 56 for Royal Naval Reserve; and
- 51 for Royal Marines Reserve.
